A study presented at the European Congress on Obesity revealed that severely obese four-year-olds have a life expectancy of 39 years without weight loss. Researchers analyzed data from over 10 million people worldwide, finding that early weight loss could significantly increase life expectancy. Children with a BMI Z-score of 2.0 had an estimated life expectancy of 65, while those with a score of 2.5 had a life expectancy of 50.
