Chewing gum recycling initiative launches at railway stations in northern England

Chewing gum bins are now installed at 13 railway stations in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Cumbria. This initiative by train operator Northern aims to reduce littering and promote recycling. The bins, made from recycled chewing gum, will collect waste to be transformed into products like coffee cups, trainer soles, and stationery. This effort addresses the ongoing issue of discarded gum, which is costly and time-consuming to clean. The new bins provide a dedicated disposal option for customers.
