Chennai quenches thirsty horses with daily water

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Chennai's Greater Chennai Corporation is now providing 10,000 liters of water daily to approximately 150 horses used for beach rides, after two horses died from heatstroke. The water supply follows a request from People for Animals, who reported the horses' neglect during the summer heat, including lack of water and tethering in the sun. The water is being distributed at several congregation points. People for Animals also provided grass for the horses. They are now suggesting the corporation create a shaded enclosure near Marina Beach to ensure consistent access to resources and medical care.
