Chennai police arrested ex-minister's son for cheating sister

Raja Shanmuganathan, son of a former minister, was arrested at Chennai airport for allegedly cheating his sister out of ₹17 crore. He was apprehended while attempting to board a flight to Malaysia. The arrest stems from a complaint filed by his sister, alleging Raja misused her assets to secure loans and investments for his companies. He is accused of diverting funds and forging documents to transfer company shares to himself and his wife. The accused, a councillor, faces charges including misappropriation of funds and fraudulent transfer of property. A lookout circular was issued against him before his arrest on June 10.
