Chennai police arrested dentist for investment fraud

A dentist was arrested for defrauding a woman of 27 lakh rupees after promising returns on an investment in his clinic's expansion. The 41-year-old dentist, Harish Venkateshwaran, received the money from S. Aishwarya, who took out a loan to invest. He initially paid back a small portion before defaulting on the remaining amount. The police investigation revealed Venkateshwaran had a prior criminal case. The arrest followed a complaint filed by Aishwarya, who was introduced to the dentist and his wife.
