Cheesecake recalled in five states due to allergen

independent.co.uk

A popular cheesecake sold at Target has been recalled due to an undeclared allergen. The product is called Favorite Day’s New York Style Cheesecake. It comes in a six-ounce container with two slices. The recall was announced by Dessert Holdings LLC on Wednesday. The cheesecake contains pecans that were not listed on the packaging. This poses a risk for people who have allergies to tree nuts, especially pecans. They could face serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they eat the cheesecake. The issue came to light after a customer complaint on March 14. Dessert Holdings LLC has confirmed that this is the only affected lot, and there have been no reported illnesses related to the cheesecake as of March 21. The recalled cheesecakes were distributed to Target stores in California, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and Texas between February 14 and March 7. Customers can find the Lot code 25028A1 000039133 on the side of the packaging as well as the UPC number 0 85239 09690 1. Customers should not eat the recalled cheesecake. They can contact Target for a full refund. This recall follows another recent announcement by Nestlé U.S., which recalled certain meals due to the potential presence of wood-like material. This included meals from Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s sold between September 2024 and March 2025. Additionally, Savage Pet recently recalled some of its cat food products over concerns of bird flu contamination. Pet owners are advised to monitor their cats for signs of illness if they have fed them the recalled food.
