Cheapest Avignon TGV parking lot hikes prices after saturation

The cheapest parking lot at Avignon's TGV station, P7, has seen significant price increases effective September 1, 2026. The Grand Avignon authority voted for the hike due to the lot's high occupancy rate. A 12-to-24-hour stay at P7 rose from €6.40 to €11.40, and each additional 24 hours now costs €9.30 instead of €6.40. The authority defends the increase as proportionate, noting P7 remains 40% cheaper than the nearby P6 lot. The decision was made by the new majority led by Avignon's mayor Olivier Galzi, citing the lot's saturation. Left-wing councillors opposed the measure, which now applies to P7's 1,300 spaces.
