Channel Seven expands AFL coverage with new weeknight programming for 2025

Next season, Channel Seven will expand its AFL coverage, introducing more weeknight programming and simulcasting matches on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The network will also enhance its streaming service, 7plus Sport, with full games and exclusive content. Fox Footy will have exclusive live coverage of Saturday matches for the first eight rounds, with some games delayed on Seven. The AFL is considering increasing Thursday night matches from 14 to 21, maintaining the same number of free-to-air games as before. Commentary teams are changing, with Seven signing former players like Nick Riewoldt and Channel Nine retaining its Classified panel. Fox Footy will see Tom Hawkins and Shaun Burgoyne join its ranks, while Garry Lyon may co-host AFL 360.
