Certa's new managing director Orla Stevens leads efforts to reduce emissions in Ireland's home heating sector
Orla Stevens is the new managing director of Certa, a major fuel supplier in Ireland. She transitioned from a career in radio to various roles in sales and management before taking the top position six months ago. Certa, part of the DCC group, operates 23 depots and focuses on home heating fuels and renewable energy. Certa aims to reduce carbon emissions by introducing hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as a cleaner alternative to diesel. The company has also launched EcoMax, a lower carbon blended biofuel for home heating, which requires no modifications to existing boilers. Stevens emphasizes the importance of these initiatives in addressing Ireland's emissions from residential heating. Certa is expanding its services, including electric vehicle charging stations and solar energy solutions for businesses. Stevens is focused on balancing her professional responsibilities with family life and personal interests, such as singing and reading.
