Central yoga research institute approved for Guntur, Andhra Pradesh

The Indian central government has approved a Rs 100-crore Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, with operations slated to begin in 2028. The institute will be built on 15.03 acres at Nadimpalem in Prathipadu mandal, pending the state's completion of infrastructure works within three months. It will feature a 100-bed hospital, research labs, and training centres, focusing on evidence-based research and integrated treatment for lifestyle diseases. Similar institutes operate in Haryana, Karnataka, and Assam, with more under construction. The Guntur site was selected for its proximity to National Highway-16 and the city, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a key national hub for yoga and naturopathy research and healthcare.
