Central Railway builds Kurla temporary platform for Harbour line

Central Railway will demolish platforms at Kurla station to build additional railway lines, necessitating a temporary platform for Harbour line trains. This demolition is part of a larger project to segregate long-distance and suburban trains, with Harbour line services eventually moving to an elevated deck under construction. The existing platforms will be dismantled to accommodate long-distance trains. The project, which includes a new elevated deck and a skywalk, aims to improve traffic flow and is expected to be completed in phases, with the Sion road over bridge replacement scheduled for completion by June 2026.
