Central government clarifies extreme poverty is not a criterion for Antyodaya beneficiaries

Extreme poverty is not a criterion for identifying Antyodaya beneficiaries, the central government stated. The Union government clarified that Kerala's declaration of being free from extreme poverty will not affect its food grain allocation. This was in response to questions raised in the Lok Sabha. The Union Minister of Food and Public Distribution stated that food grain distribution is based on beneficiary lists provided by states.
