Centennial High School wins both boys' and girls' titles at 2A state cross country championships

Centennial High School won both the boys' and girls' team titles at the 2A state cross country championships. Riley Herdson led the girls' team, finishing first with a time of 19:12.54, just four seconds ahead of her closest competitor. The boys' team also secured victory, totaling 70 points, with David Herzberger finishing fifth individually at 16:37.56. This marks Centennial's second consecutive state championship for the boys, following a strong season competing in larger events. Centennial's girls scored 39 points, significantly ahead of Hereford (67) and Century (85). The boys' team outperformed Poolesville (96) and Wilde Lake (112). Both teams emphasized their strong family-like atmosphere as a key to their success.
