Celtics win fifth straight game against Trail Blazers

The Boston Celtics continued their strong performance by winning their fifth consecutive game. They defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 129-116 on Sunday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 30 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds. Sam Hauser also contributed significantly, making 8 of 10 three-point attempts and scoring 24 points. Derrick White added 17 points along with eight assists. The Celtics played without key players Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis. With this win, Boston now has a record of 52-19 and is five games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. On the Trail Blazers' side, Shaedon Sharpe was the highest scorer with 23 points. The team, now at 32-40, is trying to catch up to the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks for a chance to secure a playoff position. The Celtics gained a solid lead by ending the first half with a 21-8 scoring run. They led by as much as 18 points during the game. Although the Trail Blazers narrowed the gap to seven points, they could not get any closer. Looking ahead, Boston will play against Sacramento on Monday, while Portland is set to host Cleveland on Tuesday.
