Cebu City reports seven fires in early March

Cebu City has experienced seven fire incidents in the first five days of March, resulting in significant property damage worth P4.4 million. Hundreds of homes were destroyed, leaving many families homeless. The total number of fire incidents in Cebu City from January to March 2025 has reached 60, with damages estimated at P60 million. One injury was reported, but there have been no fatalities this month. In response to the rise in fires, the Cebu City Fire Station plans to enhance its fire safety awareness campaign, "Oplan Ligtas Pamayanan," to educate residents on prevention and emergency response.
