CBI files chargesheet in R.G. Kar Medical College financial irregularities case naming former principal and student leader

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a 125-page chargesheet in the R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital financial irregularities case. Former principal Sandip Ghosh and student leader Ashish Pandey are among five individuals named. The chargesheet includes witness statements from over 100 people and more than 500 pages of supporting documents. Ghosh was arrested in September 2023, while Pandey was arrested in October 2023. The investigation follows allegations of favoritism in vendor selection and bribery by Ghosh. The case is also linked to a separate rape and murder investigation at the hospital.
