CATL unveils new battery packs with 373-mile range and plans 30,000 swap stations in China

CATL, the largest electric vehicle battery producer, has launched two new battery models aimed at standardizing battery swapping. The company plans to build 1,000 swap stations next year, with a total of 30,000 planned across China. The new Choco-SEB battery packs offer ranges of up to 373 miles. The 20# model is for small city cars, while the 25# model suits compact and mid-size vehicles. Users can pay based on energy use rather than purchasing entire battery packs. CATL aims to lower development costs and reduce vehicle development cycles with these standardized models. The company will introduce 10 electric vehicles with swappable batteries next year, collaborating with several automakers.
