Catherine Rampell joins MSNBC from CNN as co-host

Catherine Rampell will join MSNBC as a co-host of "The Weekend" evening program starting this spring. She will co-host with Ayman Mohyeldin and a third host to be announced later. Rampell, a Washington Post columnist and critic of Donald Trump, previously worked as a commentator for CNN. She ended her time there last month. This hiring comes as MSNBC adjusts its programming following recent changes, including the departure of popular host Joy Reid.
