Cathay Insurance now offers direct hospital bill payment for travelers to Japan and South Korea. This service aims to alleviate financial burdens during medical emergencies abroad. The new "Hospital Medical Advance Payment Service" is available for those with specific overseas travel insurance plans. It covers medical expenses up to NT$1.2 million for accidental injury and sudden illness, with an additional travel inconvenience rider. This service addresses the significant costs of medical care for foreign travelers, who often lack access to local national health insurance. It allows for direct payment by a partner company, avoiding upfront out-of-pocket expenses for policyholders.
