The Cassa Rurale di Argelato celebrates its 120th anniversary tomorrow at 6 PM in the parish hall, marking the founding of one of 19 entities that merged to form Emil Banca. Founded on April 22, 1906, by parish priest Don Raffaele Venturi, the credit cooperative started with 17 members contributing one lira each to help laborers and artisans access loans without usurers. It merged with neighboring banks in 1973, 2000, and beyond. Emil Banca president Gian Luca Galletti will present the new local member committee and awards to community organizations. The bank has grown from 17 lire to managing over 12 billion euros while maintaining its non-profit, community-focused values across all Emilia provinces.
