Carrot Top accuser denies extortion, says recording was deleted
Brian Evans, the man accused of trying to extort comedian Carrot Top with a sexually explicit recording, denies ever threatening to release the video, stating the file was deleted long ago. Evans told TMZ that the USB drive containing the recording was erased in accordance with a prior settlement, and he never sought payment in exchange for not posting it. He expressed sympathy for Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, saying he was glad the comedian survived his recent suicide attempt and does not blame him for the situation. Carrot Top's attorney previously claimed Evans demanded $500,000 to keep the alleged recording out of a legal docket. The 61-year-old comedian remains hospitalized following his Friday suicide attempt.
