CareTrust REIT to Buy 45 UK Care Homes from LNT for £1.1 Billion

CareTrust REIT has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 45 new UK care homes from LNT Care Developments for approximately £1.1 billion, with the first closing of 24 homes completed on October 1, 2026. The initial 24 homes, all built within the past two years, cost about £576 million and were funded through forward equity settlements and revolving credit. The remaining 21 homes under development will be acquired for roughly £504 million upon completion, expected throughout 2027. CareTrust also closed approximately $488 million in other investments since its Q2 2026 report, including UK care homes and US skilled nursing deals. The blended stabilized yield on these investments, excluding the LNT transaction, is 8.8%.
