Care home employee charged after 82-year-old patient dies following incident in Georgia
A care home employee in Augusta, Georgia, has been charged with battery and exploiting an elderly person after an 82-year-old resident died following an incident. The incident occurred on January 5 at Barclay House Senior Living. Initially, staff reported that the patient had fallen. However, after reviewing surveillance footage, it was revealed that Curtis Hightower, 28, struck the man, leading to his fall. The patient died on January 17 at Piedmont Hospital. Hightower was a temporary employee and is no longer with the facility. He has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
