Carabinieri dismantle drug-dealing camp in Val d'Orcia woods near Pienza

Italian police dismantled a drug-dealing camp in the Val d'Orcia woods near Pienza, seizing heroin, cocaine, a precision scale, and knives. Two suspects fled and remain at large. The operation on August 28 began when Carabinieri spotted two men who escaped into vegetation. Officers found a clandestine bivouac in the Pianoia area, which was placed under criminal seizure. Evidence was handed to Siena prosecutors. Mayor Manolo Garosi thanked the Carabinieri for the operation, which included full environmental cleanup of the site. Removed items included chairs, blankets, food, and car batteries to restore the area and prevent future illegal use.
