The vehicle matches the description of their 1979 Lincoln Continental. Police also found human remains near the car. The remains are being investigated as part of the ongoing search for the couple, who disappeared while traveling back to New York from Florida. The Romers went missing after leaving their hotel on April 8, 1980. Their case prompted one of the largest searches in southern Georgia at the time.
