Captain Rheeya Sreedharan becomes first second-generation woman officer to earn aviation wings in Indian Army
Captain Rheeya K. Sreedharan has made history as the first second-generation woman officer to earn Aviation Wings in the Indian Army. She received the wings after completing 11 months of training at the Combat Aviation Training School in Nashik. Captain Sreedharan is the daughter of Brigadier Kaushal Sreedharan, following in her father's footsteps. The award recognizes her achievement in the Army Aviation Corps, which enhances the Army's operational capabilities. The Aviation Wings are awarded to officers who complete the Combat Aviators Course, qualifying them as combat helicopter pilots. The Army Aviation Corps was established in 1986 to provide air mobility and combat support.
