Cancer vaccine prevents tumor recurrence

An experimental cancer vaccine shows promise in preventing recurrence of pancreatic and colorectal tumors. The vaccine, ELI-002 2P, targets KRAS gene mutations common in these cancers. In a trial, most patients generated cancer-fighting T cells, with some showing no detectable disease biomarkers. This "off-the-shelf" vaccine offers a standardized approach, potentially improving outcomes for patients with high recurrence risk after surgery.
