Canberra will equip every suburb with Automated External Defibrillators by year-end, a move hailed as a world first. This initiative aims to significantly improve survival rates for sudden cardiac arrest, which currently stands below 10 percent in Australia. The easy-to-use devices provide vital assistance in emergencies. The program is a partnership between St John Ambulance, Goodloop Mutual, and StreetBeat, with 47 AEDs already installed and 77 more planned.
