Canada wins silver in women's team sprint event
Canada's women's speedskating team, consisting of Brooklyn McDougall, Beatrice Lamarche, and Ivanie Blondin, won silver in the team sprint at the ISU world championship. They finished with a time of 1:27.23. McDougall replaced Carolina Hiller shortly before the race. The Dutch team took gold, finishing in 1:25.57, while Poland secured bronze with a time of 1:27.80. In other events, the Canadian men's team finished sixth, and Valerie Maltais placed sixth in the women's 3,000 meters. Ted-Jan Bloemen was seventh in the men's 5,000 meters.
