Cambodia's working-age population reaches 13.1 million, survey shows

Cambodia's working-age population reached approximately 13.1 million people, including 6.8 million women and 6.3 million men, according to the Cambodia Labour Force Survey Results 2025 released Wednesday. The population remains predominantly rural, with 7.8 million residents versus 5.3 million in urban areas. The labour force participation rate was about 72 percent, while the employment rate for those aged 15 and older stood at 69 percent, or roughly 9.1 million people. The service sector led employment at 43 percent, followed by industry at 29.4 percent and agriculture at 27.6 percent. Unemployment was around three percent, with average monthly wages at US$300, showing a gender gap of US$315 for men versus US$280 for women.
