Call of Duty tops holiday gaming charts as most-played title on consoles

Call of Duty has become the most-played game on PlayStation and Xbox for the week of December 21, despite issues with its latest title, Black Ops 6. The game is bundled with Warzone, making it popular during the holiday season. The top five games on Xbox included Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Grand Theft Auto 5 Remastered, and Roblox. On PlayStation, NBA 2K25 replaced Roblox in the fifth spot. Call of Duty's success is attributed to a free trial and double XP event. On PC, Marvel Rivals led the charts, with Call of Duty HQ in sixth place. Player frustrations with Black Ops 6's performance issues have not significantly affected its popularity, as it continues to top sales and playtime charts since its October launch.
