California revokes doctor's license for child sex abuse
Dr. Patrick Clyne, a former Santa Clara County child welfare physician, has surrendered his medical license, effectively ending his ability to practice medicine in California due to accusations of sexually abusing children. The surrender of his license, finalized on Thursday, comes after decades of allegations and a state Attorney General's investigation. Clyne, 63, was accused of inappropriate conduct with patients, including foster youth, dating back to 2001, but was never criminally charged. A civil case against Clyne is still pending, and a trial is scheduled for next month. The accusations against Clyne include improper touching and inappropriate examinations of children under his care, causing lasting trauma to alleged victims.
