California recalls raw milk over bird flu detection

California agriculture officials have announced a recall of raw milk from Valley Milk Simply Bottled due to the detection of H5N1 bird flu in bulk milk tanks. The recall affects all raw cow milk and Desi Milk with specific code dates. This is the second raw milk recall in California in recent weeks. In November, Fresno-based Raw Farm also faced a recall and sales suspension after similar concerns. No confirmed human cases of H5N1 have been linked to these recalls. Health officials advise against consuming the recalled products and recommend that retailers remove them from shelves. Pasteurized dairy products remain safe, as the pasteurization process eliminates the bird flu virus.
