California Channel Yields Two Bodies in Two Days; Police See No Link

Two bodies were found in a California flood control channel within two days, with police stating no connection between the deaths. A girl's severely decomposed body was discovered on Sept. 1, followed by a man's body the next day. The girl, estimated to be between 6 and 12 years old, was spotted by a golfer in the Dominguez Channel in Carson. The following morning, workers found a Black man, aged 50 to 60, several miles away, who appeared to have been dead less than 24 hours. Authorities are awaiting autopsies to determine causes of death and identities. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and investigating the incidents separately, noting the only similarity is the location within the 15-mile channel.
