Cali deploys 11,100 troops for De la Espriella's inauguration security

Cali is preparing for Abelardo de la Espriella's presidential inauguration in three days, deploying 11,100 public force members for an event expected to draw 6,000 attendees, including international delegations. The security operation includes 1,500 additional police officers guarding the airport, main roads, hotels, and official venues, while the Navy protects the Cali-Buenaventura route and the Air Force conducts aerial surveillance with drones and anti-drone systems. A unified command post will operate 24 hours, with a reward of up to 500 million pesos for information preventing terrorist acts, plus a citywide alcohol ban from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Confirmed attendees include Spain's King Felipe VI, eight heads of state from Latin American countries, and delegations from the U.S., the Holy See, Portugal, and South Korea, with the U.S. Secretary of State also expected.
