A drone that Bulgaria says is a type widely used by Ukraine exploded near a major gas pipeline at its Romanian border Saturday. No one was injured. The blast occurred at 8:10 a.m. near Kardam. Bulgaria’s Defense Ministry said the drone is a type widely used by Ukraine’s military. Kyiv denied deliberately sending anything toward Bulgaria, and Sofia summoned Ukraine’s ambassador for Monday. The explosion occurred about 1,000 meters from Bulgaria’s and 200 meters from Romania’s compressor station on the Trans-Balkan pipeline, which runs from Turkey to Ukraine. The drone went undetected before detonating.
