A drone entered Bulgaria and exploded Saturday near the Romanian border, causing no injuries or damage, officials said, adding there was no indication of intent. Defense officials said the drone was a type widely used by Ukraine and carried a significant explosive load. It landed 100 meters from the border, about 170 kilometers from Ukraine. The Trans-Balkan pipeline sustained no damage. The area lies near the Black Sea, where Russia and Ukraine frequently attack each other's vessels. Bulgaria recently reinforced its air defense after Romania downed a drone, though neither detected this one.
