Bulgaria says crashed drone may be Ukrainian; Kyiv denies targeting

radiosvoboda.org (Ukrainian)

Bulgaria said a drone that crashed from Romania on August 8 may have been Ukrainian. Kyiv denied targeting Bulgaria and pledged to investigate. Bulgaria's Defense Ministry said preliminary analysis suggested a 'Maya' decoy drone, widely used by Ukraine's military, but found no sign of intent. Ukraine's spokesperson Heorhiy Tykhyi said Kyiv was cooperating with Sofia to establish the facts and blamed Russia's war. The drone exploded near a gas pipeline, undetected by Bulgarian or Romanian radar and NATO's air operations center. Bulgaria moved anti-drone systems to the border. Russian drones have recently entered several NATO countries' airspace.
