BSF halts bunker construction by Bangladesh near border
India's Border Security Force (BSF) stopped Bangladesh's Border Guards (BGB) from building an "illegal bunker" near the international border. This intervention occurred during a patrol on Saturday, following a similar incident the previous day. The BSF noted that BGB had been constructing bunkers within 150 yards of the border, violating joint guidelines. Tensions have risen since a regime change in Bangladesh last August, leading to increased confrontations between the two forces. Recent clashes between Indian and Bangladeshi villagers have highlighted the growing friction. The new Bangladeshi government has opposed previously approved BSF construction projects, shifting the focus from border management to community-level conflicts.
