Brookfield invests $10B in Sweden's AI infrastructure
Brookfield plans to invest nearly $10 billion to construct an artificial intelligence infrastructure hub in Sweden, a project expected to take 10-15 years. The investment will establish a 750-megawatt data center in Strangnas, west of Stockholm, significantly expanding previous plans and making it the first of its kind in the Nordic nation. This follows a February announcement of a $23 billion AI center development in France. The project, backed by the Swedish government, aims to boost Europe's AI competitiveness and is one of the largest AI infrastructure investments in Sweden. Securing sufficient power for the project is a key focus.
