Bronx murder suspect recaptured after escaping police custody
Anthony Riser, 27, is facing new charges after escaping from a police transport van while handcuffed. He had been arrested for allegedly murdering his neighbor, Richard Spigner, in December. Riser escaped during transport to Bronx Central Booking early Tuesday morning, prompting a four-hour manhunt. He was recaptured later that morning near Claremont Parkway. In addition to the murder and other charges, Riser now faces a felony charge of first-degree escape. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
