Brittany Parks of 'Glee' shares breast cancer diagnosis

Actress and dancer Brittany Parks, 38, announced her stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer diagnosis on Instagram Sunday, Aug. 2, stating the next year will be "difficult" but expressing confidence in her treatment plan. Parks, who appeared on "Glee" from 2009 to 2015, said she feels "at ease" with her current treatment. Triple-negative breast cancer is aggressive and lacks common receptors, making it harder to treat, according to the American Cancer Society. Her costars, including Heather Morris and Kevin McHale, showed support. Morris set up a GoFundMe for Parks, who is immunocompromised, to cover rent and medical costs. The fundraiser had raised $37,884 of its $50,000 goal as of Aug. 4.
