British billionaire warned Epstein was a 'sexual deviant' decades before FBI closed in
British billionaire Sir James Goldsmith privately warned in the 1980s that Jeffrey Epstein was a "sexual deviant" recruiting children, decades before federal authorities closed in on the abuser, according to a Guardian investigation. Goldsmith, who died in 1997, told confidants to avoid Epstein, yet no formal report was made to law enforcement. Goldsmith's business operations on Hilton Head, South Carolina, add mystery to claims by Jane Doe 4, who alleged Epstein assaulted her there as a teenager in the 1980s and trafficked her to other men, including Donald Trump. The White House has denied the allegation as baseless, and Epstein's brother says there is no record of him visiting the island. The FBI interviewed Jane Doe 4 four times after Epstein's 2019 arrest, but no evidence shows agents followed up on her leads. Epstein died in prison that year facing sex-trafficking charges, with the Justice Department saying he harmed over 1,000 people.
