Brazil's Supreme Court convicts Zambelli, sentencing her to prison

The Supreme Federal Court (STF) is poised to convict federal deputy Carla Zambelli, with four votes already cast for a 10-year prison sentence and the loss of her seat. A majority has been reached. The court is judging Zambelli for invading the National Justice Council (CNJ) system. Justice Carmen Lúcia, along with Justices Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin, and Flávio Dino, voted to convict. Only one vote remains. The case stems from an alleged 2023 attack on the CNJ system, where a fake arrest warrant was issued against Justice Moraes. The court accepted the prosecution's case last year.
