Brazilian police searched Vasco striker David Corrêa's home and training center on Monday as part of Operation A Tropa, investigating suspected ties to drug and arms trafficking. Two of his phones were seized. The probe began with the arrest of Ruan de Freitas Camargo Cruz, David's childhood friend, accused of orchestrating a 2024 murder in Espírito Santo to control drug trafficking. Police found messages between Ruan and David, plus Vila Nova player Hayner, prompting the searches. David denied involvement in trafficking but admitted knowing suspects from Espírito Santo. Vasco said he remains available to play while cooperating with authorities. The investigation, under judicial secrecy, also examines possible links involving other athletes and businessmen.
