Brazilian man found dead in Turkey before deportation; family seeks answers

Brazilian businessman Lucas Nascimento de Medeiros, 33, was found dead in Turkey while awaiting deportation, with the cause of death still under investigation and his family demanding answers. Medeiros, from Natal, was detained after a religious dispute and was expected to remain in custody until his return to Brazil. His family lost contact on October 8 and learned of his death on October 12, receiving conflicting reports about where he died and contesting an overdose hypothesis. The Brazilian consulate in Istanbul is assisting the family, who are now working to repatriate his body at a cost of approximately R$70,000 and plan to hire a private expert to seek justice.
