Bradley Cooper to star in Nelson Algren biopic
Bradley Cooper is set to star in a new biopic about Nelson Algren, the lover of French writer Simone de Beauvoir. This follows his Oscar nomination for playing Leonard Bernstein in "Maestro." The film will explore their 17-year relationship. The script is being written by Sir Christopher Hampton, with French actress Elsa Zylberstein portraying de Beauvoir. Filming may begin as early as this summer, marking Cooper's return to biographical roles after previous nominations without a win. Cooper's character, Algren, was a writer and poker player who had a significant impact on de Beauvoir's life. Their relationship was marked by distance and challenges, as Algren faced FBI surveillance and travel restrictions.
