Boy, 14, admits to killing rival teen in Glasgow
A 14-year-old boy has admitted to killing a 16-year-old named Kory McCrimmon during a gang dispute over £50. The incident happened last May in Glasgow, after the two had exchanged threats on social media. The young attacker, who cannot be named, initially faced a murder charge but pleaded guilty to culpable homicide due to provocation. Judge Lord Mulholland expressed his anger, calling it a tragic example of the dangers of gang involvement. He noted that Kory had no criminal record and was a talented young football player. The confrontation leading to Kory's death began with escalating insults between the two boys. On the day of the attack, a large group gathered at Greenfield Park. Both sides appeared to be eager for a fight. During the confrontation, the 14-year-old stabbed Kory in the chest, leading to his death days later in the hospital. Following the incident, the attacker sought treatment for injuries at the same hospital where Kory was taken. He was initially arrested for attempted murder but later claimed he acted in self-defense. During the court hearing, Lord Mulholland condemned the use of knives and emphasized the senselessness of gang-related violence. He stated that Kory's parents are now living with the pain of losing their son over "a stupid gang fight." Sentencing for the young killer has been postponed for further reports.
