Bowdoin lacrosse advances in NCAA tournament
Bowdoin men's lacrosse team decisively defeated Rivier 28-3 in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament, advancing to the next round. Senior Patrick Fitzgerald led the Polar Bears with seven goals, breaking the program's single-season scoring record. The game, played in heavy rain, saw Bowdoin dominate Rivier with strong defense and control of the faceoff. Bowdoin's offense, with 13 players scoring, overwhelmed Rivier, who struggled to contain the Polar Bears' attack. Bowdoin will host the winner of the Amherst vs. Endicott game on Sunday. Coach Bill Mason emphasized the team's experience and readiness for the next challenge in the tournament.
