Botoșani owner predicts Reghecampf's quick exit at FCSB after three losses

Valeriu Iftime, owner of FC Botoșani, predicts that Laurențiu Reghecampf will be dismissed by Gigi Becali after three consecutive losses, doubting the coach's promise to win his first 10 matches at FCSB. Iftime made the statement on Friday, October 2, 2026. Reghecampf returns for a third stint at FCSB following a poor start to the season, including a 3-7 aggregate elimination by Auda in Conference League qualifying. Becali hired him after other candidates, including Edi Iordănescu, Marius Șumudică, Ianis Zicu, and Mirel Rădoi, were rejected. Iftime noted upcoming matches against Oțelul, Voluntari, and Rapid as difficult, adding that Reghecampf is a good coach but not a top European-level manager. Reghecampf previously led FCSB to two consecutive league titles in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, plus a Supercup and a League Cup.
